Maut Ki Tashkeel.

Al Salamu 'Alaykum.

"Mawt ki tashkeel karo to bukhar par razi ho jayega,
40 din ki tashkeel karo to 3 din par razi ho jayega."

English Translation:

"Ask a person to die and he will agree to (suffer)a bout of fever,
Motivate him for (going in) 40 days Jamat and he will agree to 3 days."

Haji Shakil (db)

Al Salamu 'Alaykum.

Haji Shakil Saheb needs no introduction. He lives in Panvel and his majlis is held every Sunday over there. People come over from places as varied and far off as Khopoli, Bombay, Malegaon, Surat etc to attend his Deeni Majlis. He is known for his inimitable sense of humour and his invariable adherence to the truth, however unpalatable it maybe for his listeners. In addition, Hadrat finances and runs many makaatib in rural areas of India where Muslims are in a minority and are at risk of losing their faith and their identity.

Right now, Haji Shakil Sb is on Hajj. Before he left, this unworthy soul asked him to make dua' by name. Yesterday morning, I got a message on my mobile from his Saudi number. It said, "Al Salamu Alaikum. Aapke liye dua kar raha hun. Aapse dua ki darkhwast hai." Translation: "I am praying for you. Request for dua".

For a long time I just sat in my office staring at my mobile wondering at the love and mercy of our elders. Out of the hundreds, nay thousands of people who must have requested Hadrat for dua's, the Shaykh remembered me and while sitting in the Haram he managed to get the message across to me and at the same time requested for dua's himself.

Truly, our elders cannot be matched in their love for the Ummah, their humility and their compassion. May Allah protect and preserve our Shuyukh, our Sufiya and our 'Ulema.
Peace and Blessings upon Muhammad al Mustafa, his Companions and his Family.
'Alaikum Salam.

New Masjid in Panvel.

Al Salamu 'Alaykum.
I had the blessed oppurtunity of attending the majlis of Al Haaj Shakil Ahmad db in Panvel yesterday.
Hadrat's majalis have the unique advantage of being completely accessible to even people of little or no knowledge (although one will find many 'Ulama and Muftis in attendance), easy to understand and yet very deep and rich in meaning and touching upon a variety of Islahi topics in one bayaan. Haji Sahab or Baba as he is commonly called also has an inimitable sense of humour that prevents the listeners' interest from waning.
After the majlis, Hadrat spoke about the fact that the Muslim population in that part of Panvel had increased and was in need of a mosque. One older mosque in Panvel is too far away to attend except for Juma' or occasionally. Keeping this in mind, a plot of land had been earmarked and negotiations concluded with the owner. Already Rs 65, 00, 000/- have exchanged hands but the cost of the plot is more than Rs 2 Cr. Coupled with the cost of building the mosque later, the entire expenditure will be in the range of Rs 5 Cr. Donations for the mosque are therefore most welcome. May Allah make this great project easy for all of us.
Wa salamu 'alaykum.

Tabligh Is No 1.

Al Salamu 'Alaykum.
What does Haji Sahab (Shakil Ahmad db) say about Taalim, Tablig and Tazkiyah?

" Sabse pehle tablig mein nikla, tablig mein nikal kar talab paida hoi, phir amal karne ke liye masaail sikhne ki zaroorat mahsoos hoi tu ulama se raabta kiya, phir jab Hazrat Maulana Abdul Haleem Sahab.ke paas gaya tu pata chala ke apne andar dil ke marz hai jinka ilaaj karna zaroori hai.
Talab paida karne ke liye tablig hai aur amal karne ke liye masaail ki zaroorat hai tu ulama se puchna hoga, aur jab ye sab kaam karenge tu shaitan chood kar nahi jayega to dil ke ilaaj ke liye shaikh ki zaroorat hai is liye sabse pehle number par tablig hai ke talab na hogi to na ulama ke paas jayega na kisi shaikh ke paas."

Translation: First I went in Tabligh and going in Tabligh produced a desire(for Din) in me. Then I felt a need for knowledge of masa'il in order to perform (good) deeds, so I connected myself with the scholars. Then when I went to Mawlana A Haleem sb I realized that I was suffering from diseases of the heart which needed to be treated.
So Tabligh is for creating desire for Din and then for practising Islam knowledge of masa'il is important and the 'Ulama have to be consulted and (even) after doing this, Shaytan will not leave us alone so we need a Shaykh for correcting our hearts.
That is why Tabligh is number 1 because if there is no desire then one will neither go to the scholars nor to the Shuyukh.
Wa'laykum Salam.
